I'm an anthropologist who does research in Africa. Although I spend lots of time online I'm not a coder, and I'm something of a Luddite where social networking sites are concerned: I have no account on FB, LinkedIn or any similar website, and I am not on Twitter. Initially this was a matter of inertia but eventually it gelled into a principled stand. I might consider starting up a Twitter account someday, for sending out information only.
